Baby boy drowns in Stann Creek

Posted: Sunday, October 20, 2019. 8:43 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Our newsroom has confirmed that a three-year-old boy drowned in Santa Cruz Village Stann Creek, yesterday.

The source tells Breaking Belize News (BBN) that the body of Oscar Jadiel Sandoval Bonilla, a Honduran national, was pulled from a  six-foot-deep well that was filled with dirty water.

The report has since been confirmed and indications are that the child’s mother had left him playing with his five-year-old sister, and went to take a shower. When she returned the child was missing and she began to look for him and found him in the well, which is in their yard.

The child was pronounced dead on arrival at the Independence Poly Clinic.
