Belize goes for gold medal in volleyball; football misses gold in CODICADER U13 games

By Aaron Humes: After four straight victories the boys’ volleyball team in the CODICADER U13 games in Costa Rica stands on the brink of a gold medal on Sunday. The Belizean team goes up against Costa Rica for the championship.

On Saturday Belize beat El Salvador in the semifinal 2 sets to 0, 25-10 and 25-8 consiging the “cuscatlecos” to the third place match.

Belizean coach Elton Anderson credits the victories to the five months of ‘demanding’ preparation. He revealed that the team is going to change some strategies like the serve and the pass for when they face their rival, Costa Rica, this Sunday

The football seven-side fought hard with El Salvador but after a 2-2 draw they lost in a penalty shootout 4-3. They will play for bronze on Sunday, when the tournament concludes.
