Increase in shower activity expected today

By BBN Staff: In its latest weather report, the National Meteorological Service of Belize said that moisture is increasing over the area and an increase in showery activity is expected, starting today.

The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny weather with cloudy spells today and cloudy skies at times tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated, increasing over the south tonight.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 87 degrees Fahrenheit on the coast, 90 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 78 degrees Fahrenheit on the coast, 72 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be blowing East-Southeast between 10-20 knots and the sea state will be moderate. A small craft caution will likely go into effect this evening, for gusty winds and rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms.

There will be a low tide at 11:27 a.m. and a high tide at 5:55 p.m. The sun will set at 5:26 p.m. and the moon will rise tomorrow at 1:09 a.m.
