National Met Office issues advice on flooding in flood prone areas

Posted: Wednesday, October 23, 2019. 9:38 am CST.

By BBN Staff: This morning, the National Meteorological Center of Belize issued an advisory for residents living near rivers, streams and in other flood prone areas to be on the alert for the possibility of flooding.

The 24-hour forecast for today is for cloudy skies with some showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms to continue.

The National Hurricane Center is also monitoring a tropical wave that is producing rains over the Yucatan Peninsula and Belize.

A small craft caution also remains in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas near showers and thunderstorms.
