UDP convention heats up with applicants for New Chairman and Vice Chairman

By BBN Staff: The United Democratic Party (UDP) is preparing for its national convention which will be held in February, 2020.

While the race for leadership continues with more UDP members pledging their support for their respective candidates for leader of the party, John Saldivar or Patrick Faber, incumbent chairman Alberto August has submitted his application but to now serve as vice chairman of the UDP.

 August will go up against Clifford Peters from Dangriga for the post of vice chairman.

August has served the UDP as chairman since 2013.

Furthermore, Attorney General, Micheal Peyrefitte has applied for the post of party chairman.

But, Peyrefitte will be challenged by Former Lake Independence area representative Mark King who has also submitted his application to contest the convention as UDP chairman.
