By BBN Staff: In November, 10 companies from Barbados will come to Belize on a trade mission; an event that Chamberlain Consulting believes will present a world of opportunities for Belizean businesses.
Trudy Joseph-Swazo, Chief Coordination Consultant at Chamberlain Consulting, said that the trade mission, done in collaboration with the Barbados Investment Development Corporation (BIDC), gives Belizean products and services a chance to do business within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and offer options for expansion that might have previously been unavailable.
“Even if it is that you’re already working with a company, who’s to say that the company that is coming in will not be added value to what you are interested in or already providing?” Swazo said.
“We don’t want people to limit their thinking and say that this is for only big businesses, it can be for associations, as well.”
Swazo noted that the companies coming will be offering beer, juices, seasonings, margarine, and animal feed. The products will also include solar water heaters and styrofoam alternatives, two products which are timely, given Belize’s recent national strides towards a green economy such as phasing out single-use plastics.
“Hoteliers and property owners in remote places could take advantage of those products. In the case of animal feed, the alcalde of a village could see what ind of savings he could get for the farmers in his village,” she added.
The trade mission will consist of a series of events taking place at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza between November 11-16. Appointments for the business-to-business sessions can be set by calling at 610-3883, 672-0848, or send an email to [email protected] or [email protected]
