Dia De Los Finados Exhibition to be held in Orange Walk

By BBN Staff: The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH), through the Banquitas House of Culture, is inviting the public to view their “Dia de Los Finados” (Day of the Dead) exhibition on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 10 am to 3 pm.

This tradition is celebrated in many parts of Belize particularly in Maya/Mestizo communities.

In an effort to protect and safeguard this tradition, the Banquitas House of Culture will host an annual Finados spiritual tribute and exhibition in honour of the dearly departed.

The public is invited to attend and learn more about the different types of altars and offerings prepared to honour the return of the souls.

The prayer service starts at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 1st, and will be followed by a candlelight procession to the New Cemetery located on the San Antonio Road.
