National Meteorological Service issues flood alert

By BBN Staff: This morning, the National Meteorological Service of Belize issued a flood alert for western Belize.

The National Met Service informed that according to Becol, the Vaca dam spillway became active this morning, therefore there will be flash flooding down stream.

Residents in Benque Viejo del Carmen and Succotz as well as near San Antonio, Cayo have reported flash flooding in their communities.

Residents are asked to remain alert.
