Two Belize hotels win prestigious Conde Nast Johansens Awards of Excellence

By Aaron Humes: San Pedro’s Victoria House and Spa and Coco Plum Island Resort off the coast of Dangriga Belize are in highest company as regional award winners of the 2020 Conde Nast Johansens Awards of Excellence.

Victoria House in south Ambergris Caye was dubbed “Best for Romance,” if you can afford the pricey tag for a stay. If you like the beach, Coco Plum is your bet as “Best Water Side Resort.”

The awards were presented during the usual and exclusive gala dinner at The May Fair Hotel in London.

According to Italian publication Full Travel, Italian hotels won seven of 19 awards for their region, with Central and South America separated from the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

The awards are the result of a full year of votes cast online, feedback from guests and reports by the Local Experts of Condé Nast Johansens, regarding the hotels that appear both on the website and on the printed guides. Each winner was awarded a framed certificate, a trophy and a bottle of Pol Roger Brut Reserve NV champagne.

Condé Nast Johansens is the main printed and multimedia guide for independent travelers comprising over 550 independent hotels, spas, historic residences, and locations for events of great beauty in 60 countries, published by the same company behind the likes of GQ and Vogue magazines and based in New York City.
