Businessman charged for lending money without permit

By BBN Staff: We reported that last week a joint task force of police officers, tax officers and the Financial Intelligence Unit conducted a search at Shanti Store in Corozal Town.

Readers will recall that the proprietor, Kishore Kumar, was found with a large amount of undisclosed cash.

Today he was charged with the offense of operating a money lending business without a permit.

He appeared in court and plead not guilty and was offered bail in the sum of $150,000.
