Family and police continue search for Jaswant Brooks

Posted: Thursday, November 7, 2019. 8:47 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Jaswant Brooks, 18, remains missing tonight amid concerns he has come to harm.

The teenager was last seen heading to buy on Police Street.

His father Kent told a BBN reporter tonight that the family intends to continue its search for the youth on Saturday, pending further information to be provided to them.

Today, they were following up a lead in the vicinity of the Burdon Canal Bridge but turned up nothing.

Kent explained that his son is a homebody except for when he goes to run errands, and is not involved with criminal activity, nor hangs out with anyone involved in criminal activity. This makes his apparent disappearance all the more baffling.

Jaswant Brooks stands five-foot-eleven, weighs 150 pounds, has brown skin and eyes, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black jersey pants and black Nike slippers. He has two tattoos: one of his nickname “Dardee” on his right hand and one of a marijuana leaf on his right shoulder.

Anyone with information regarding Brooks’ whereabouts is asked to contact his dad Kent Brooks at 655-7752 or his sister, Isaida Brooks at 629-7970.
