By BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department has launched an investigation into a shooting incident in Belize City last night that left two people injured.
Police say that officers from Precinct 2 responded to information of shots fired in the Jane Usher area, and their investigation eventually led them to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they found Alrick Smith 33, and Alidia Morey 19, suffering from gunshot wounds.
They had both reportedly left Morey’s house and were walking toward Smith’s vehicle on the corner of Curl Thompson and Mud Street when a shooter approached them and opened fire.
There is no word at this time if anyone has been detained regarding the incident.
Police investigations continue.
