Posted: Monday, November 11, 2019. 4:04 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Last week, security tech company, Belize VU donated equipment valued at over $60,000 to the Benque Police station.

The donation was made possible with technological and infrastructural work by Alternative Networks, a sister company.

The donation is the second of its kind since in San Ignacio. The police had previously received 12 cameras and were also upgraded to have 34 security cameras around the town.

The company is hoping to expand the project and assist in Belmopan and other towns in Belize.

The high-tech cameras have the capability for clear recognition of faces and license plates. The cameras are also very effective in the dark.

The police thanked the company for its continued support and said that the surveillance cameras will greatly assist in the fight against crime.
