The Ministry of Education says that the outstanding performance of the students is attributed to their dedication to their studies.

“ It is also important to recognize the support of parents, guardians, principals and teachers who ensured that students were adequately prepared to sit the examinations. It is also fitting to recognize other stakeholders in the education process, foremost among these is the Government of Belize which through the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports & Culture provided financial assistance for students to sit up to six CSEC examinations,” the Ministry noted.

Through that initiative, 3,695 candidates registered to sit a total of 26,839 subject entries in the 2018 – 2019 academic year.

In addition, based on their successful performance, scholarship grants to attend tertiary institutions were provided by the Ministry of Education to 1,188 Belizean students.

The CSEC examinations afford the students a certification that has regional and international currency.
