By Aaron Humes: The Belize Jaguars are going to have to earn a win tonight in the Eastern Caribbean, with a 1-1 scoreline at the half at Kirani James Stadium.
Grenada’s dangerous Jamal Charles put the home side ahead in the 14th minute with a header. Defender Ian Gaynair answered for Belize with a header of his own from a corner kick in the 32nd minute, his second international goal, similar to the one he scored against the United States in the Gold Cup in 2013.
With French Guiana’s 3-1 win over St. Kitts and Nevis earlier, the Jaguars are safe from relegation to League C, but will be overtaken if they cannot find the winner in St. George’s.
We’ll have a report on the game at its conclusion.
