Two women stabbed during a home invasion

By BBN Staff: Two women were stabbed during a home invasion in Belize City.

Police say that Elvia Cal, 37, a Belizean businesswoman and Maria Pinto, 42, a Honduran vendor, had arrived home just before 2:00 p.m. on November 15 when three men entered their home.

One of the men demanded money but the women put up a struggle. During that struggle, the women were stabbed and the culprits escaped with a bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash.

The women were taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the matter.
