US national charged for manslaughter by negligence

By BBN Staff:  US National, Mark Cairns, 57 has been formally charged for manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and driving without due care and attention.

According to police, around 11:41 last night, Stephen Olivas, 40, was riding his bike in Hopkins when he was hit from behind by a Landrover SUV.

The Landrover was being driven at the time by Cairns.

Olivas sustained severe head and body injuries. He died shortly after.
