Belize’s U-18 female volleyball team doing extremely well in regional competition

By BBN Staff:  Belize’s U-18 female volleyball team continues to perform extremely well at the 13th Central American Female Volleyball Championship in San Carlos, Costa Rica.

Today the team recorded its second victory in 2 games by defeating Nicaragua in 3 sets. Belize won the first set 25-23 and increased the gap in the second set, winning it 25-17. However, in the third set Team Belize was down early by 4 points but the team did not lose focus. They took the lead in mid-set and ended closing off the third set with a 25-23 nail biter.

Yesterday, Belize beat the previous champions Honduras 3-1. Belize won the first set 26-24 and the second 25-22. However, Honduras sailed away with the third set, winning it 25-15, but Belize came back and took set 4 with a 25-19 score.

Tomorrow Belize is hoping to add Costa Rica to the list of teams it has defeated. That game is being played at 7:30 p.m. Belize time.

If Belize beats Costa Rica tomorrow, we will be well on the road to be crowned the 2019 champions.
