PUP northern caucus meets with Taiwanese construction company

By BBN Staff: The Northern Caucus of the People’s United Party (PUP) met with the Overseas Engineering & Construction Corp. (OECC) from Taiwan.

Present for the meeting were Vice President James Hsaiao, Project Manager Pablo Shih, and General Manager Assistant Jason Lin.

In attendance also was a representative of the Embassy of Taiwan, David Wu.

The presentation included a full overview of the company OECC and the works that they are currently engaged in and works completed worldwide.

The meeting also included discussion on the road works for the Corozal-Sarteneja road.

“OECC officials assured that they will be hiring locals to work on the project and the process is just to fill out an application form and they will call potential recruits for interviews. OECC officials gave assurances that the entire project will be free of political inference,” a statement from the PUP noted.

The PUP Northern Caucus thanked the Government and people of Taiwan for lending BZ $100 Million to upgrade the road.
