By BBNStaff: Belize will be the guest country at the 7th edition Festival of Caribbean Culture – FECUCA 2019, to be held in Mexico from November 22-30.
The festival takes place at several venues throughout Mexico, including Cozumel, Cancun, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Nicolás Bravo, Chetumal, Kantunilkín, Chunhuhub, Sabán and Bacalar and feature items such as music, cinema, theater, visual arts and dance, as well as cultural conferences.
The director of the Institute of Culture and Arts of the State of Quintana Roo, Jacqueline Estrada Peña, announced that the festival
would see participation from Cuba, Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala.
“The Caribbean Culture Festival is already a tradition in Quintana Roo, where Mexico opens up to the world (through the path of art and popular manifestations), establishing a dialogue of aesthetic communication and regional brotherhood,” the Mexican Embassy in Belize said in a statement issued this week. “For this occasion, the Mexican Caribbean will be flooded by strokes and colors, aromas of cooking, pages written with tenacity, movements where dance draws the essence of the region, images that cinema endures, and music in the full extent of its sign,” it added.
