BREAKING: Silver U-18 female volleyball stars are celebrating with style in a motorcade

By BBN Staff: The silver stars of Belize’s U-18 female volleyball team are back home and celebrating with a motorcade from Marion Jones Sporting Complex into Southside Belize City and back. In light of all the negative news that prevail in our country today, the achievements of Team Belize in Costa Rica, is very welcome positive news.

The players, all of whom attend and play for St. Catherine Academy, share a special chemistry. This chemistry helped them achieve the best result for their class in local volleyball history, and it could even have been better if the powerhouse Costa Rican side hadn’t proved too much for them.

The National Sports Council says it will provide school grants to each player.

We are all proud of the performance of the U-18 team, and their success shows what can be achieved with good organization, discipline and commitment.

BBN congratulates these young women, and wish the organizers and the team the best in future competitions.
