One-year-old toddler among those shot last night

By BBN Staff: Authorities are investigating a shooting incident last night that left a one-year-old baby girl, a man and a 16-year-old minor injured.

Investigations revealed that Mervin Martin, 23; a 16-year-old minor and a one-year-old toddler were sitting in front of a home on Antelope street extension in Belize City when a lone gunman passed and shot at them.

The gunman escaped.

Martin and the two minors sustained gunshot injuries.

The 16-year-old is listed in a critical condition.

Martin and the toddler are listed in a stable condition.

The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams confirmed that quick police response led to the detention of 2 suspects and the recovery of the weapon believed to have been used.
