Placencia gets new fire truck

By BBN Staff: Minister of National Emergency Management (with responsibility for the National Fire Service), Edmond Castro was in Placencia, Stann Creek District yesterday to receive a fire truck for the peninsula area.

The Pierce Fire/Rescue truck was purchased and donated by a group of residents from the Placencia Peninsula, with the National Fire Service paying the cost of shipping it to Belize.

Present for yesterday’s handover was CEO in the Ministry of Transport and National Emergency Management, Ruth Meighan; National Fire Chief, Colin Gillett; Placencia Village Chairlady, Elsa Villanueva; and representatives from the group of residents who have donated the fire truck.
