Man shot in face by police

By BBN Staff: A man was shot in his face by police last night. He is Jorde Usher, 25.

According to one of his uncle, he and another relative were on a motorcycle making their way home to Georgevillle just before 10 p.m. They were being pursued by the police as neither men had on a helmet. According to reports the men did not stop and instead rode on to their residence.

When the men came to a stop in front of their residence, the family claims that the police told Usher not to move.

Somehow in the process Usher was shot in his face when he turned around to face the police.

According to the family, the incident was witnessed by his mother who was on the verandah at the time.

Usher was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital where he remains hospitalized at this time.

According to his uncle, he was unarmed and not in possession of illicit substances when he was shot.
