O.W. man meets burglar inside home; chops him with machete

By BBN Staff: A thief who was inside a home in the process of committing a burglary in Orange Walk was surprised by the owner of the home who chopped him.

According to police reports, around 6:00 last night, Nassin Cantun, 28, arrived at his home and met a man inside who was stealing construction and electrical tools.

A struggle ensued between Cantun and the culprit. In the process, Cantun reportedly chopped the intruder with a machete.

The alleged thief is at the Northern Regional Hospital receiving treatment.

An investigation is on going.
