Breaking: Imer Hernandez, Belize Roadway Construction sign contracts for Coastal, Caracol Road upgrades 

By Aaron Humes: The Ministry of Works has signed contracts with two prominent contractors for upgrades to two significant roads in central Belize. A joint venture firm comprised of Imer Hernandez Development Company Limited and Construcciones y Carreteras S.A. de C.V., has the two separate contracts for the full upgrade of the Coastal Highway linking the Western and Hummingbird Highway, a total of 36.2 miles. This project will be managed by the Ministry of Works Project Execution Unit. A reputable Italian company will provide engineering and administrative supervision of the civil works.

The Caracol Road’s first two lots, from the respective George Price Highway junctions in Georgeville and Santa Elena Town to the tripartite junction and then to the Blancaneaux Lodge junction was awarded respectively to Belize Roadways Construction and A and N Construction.
