Game 2 of Verdes-Bandits Premier League finals crucial after Game 1 draw

Posted: Sunday, December 8, 2019. 9:41 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The first leg of the “El Clasico” Premier League finals finished 1-1 at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium.

In the 35th minute, a cross in found Krisean Lopez at the right post and he beat veteran Shane Moody-Orio for a 1-0 lead.

In added time at the end of the first half, Bandits defender Ian Gaynair conceded a corner kick, but the Bandits regained the ball soon after and Brazilian import Roberto Lima found Daniel Jimenez to the far right of the pitch. Jimenez’s right foot shot was low and found the net behind Verdes’ goalkeeper, Woodrow West.

The score held up to the end of what was a well-fought and entertaining encounter between two teams who know each other well.

Next week’s result will determine the Premier League opening season champion and who has the edge in the race for the CONCACAF League spot on offer.
