Case dropped against one of two men accused of murder

By Aaron Humes: Justice Colin Williams released Lenford Harris Jr., 22, one of two brothers charged with the murder of Nelson Zelaya, 27, when Senior Crown Counsel Shanice Lovell entered a nolle prosequi, indicating that the Crown will not proceed with the charge against him.

The nolle prosequi was entered because the identification evidence against Harris was tenuous.

At about midday on November 24, 2016, in Gardenia Village, Belize District, Zelaya was at the back of his yard when someone shot him in the head. He died on the spot.
