By Aaron Humes: Belize’s leading poultry producer is going solar, at least at its processing plant in Spanish Lookout, Cayo District.

Quality Poultry Products announced over social media on Friday that it has “[completed] one of the biggest solar panel projects Belize has ever seen as we have transformed our processing plant at Spanish Lookout into a solar panel display of power.”

The company explained that as part of its mission it “commits to operating in an environmentally friendly manner and what better way to do so than using renewable energy.”

The plant and factories of Quality Poultry do not use GMO feed products, are HACCP-certified and otherwise keep their products fresh.

Quality Poultry has been in operation for more than 60 years and has distribution centers around Belize.
