Belize City man shot last night on Barrack Road, alleged gunman detained

By BBN Staff: Just before midnight last night a man was shot in Belize City.

He has been identified as Christopher Guild, 35.

He was reportedly walking on Barrack Road en route to Freetown Road when a man rode up from behind and opened fire at him.

He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is listed in a critical condition.

The shooter was reportedly chased down and fired upon by an officer but he managed to escape.

One man, believed to be the shooter, has since been detained.
