BBN joins call to action against disgusting threats against women

By BBN Staff: Breaking Belize News joins the scores of Belizeans expressing concern, dismay and disgust against the continuing issue of domestic and gender-based violence in Belize highlighted by a recent high-profile case involving political personalities and culminating with a vile threat made online by a Minister’s son toward journalists, Pastor Louis and his wife Shasta Wade.

It is our hope that those in the position of authority to ensure that there is accountability for such troubling threats will take appropriate action to the fullest extent of the law. BBN also hopes that all instances of such threats and acts of violence against women are treated with the same level of priority as this outrageous and unfortunately, common occurrence.

BBN stands with our colleagues in the media in condemning this action and calling on authorities to ensure appropriate consequences in swift fashion.
