Jumoke Castro’s apology not accepted, Shasta Wade press for charges

By BBN Staff: Jumoke Castro may have issued  an apology to Shasta Wade for an alleged threat to sexually assault her, but that did not stop Shasta Wade from making an official report to the Belize Police Department.

This afternoon, Shasta Wade made the report to police requesting that action be taken against Castro. Shasta’s husband, Louis Wade, told the media that they are also speaking with their legal advisors on the issue. He also thanked the media and everyone else for the outpour of support they received during this difficult time.

In response to a Facebook post made by Louis Wade about ‘entitled sons of Ministers’, Jumoke Castro allegedly threatened that he and several others would sexually assault Shasta.

The vulgar comments spurred public outrage with numerous individuals, groups and organizations coming forward to condemn Castro and offer support to Shasta and Louis Wade.

Under immense public pressure, Castro made his own post this morning saying, “Іn fruѕtrаtіоn аnd trуіng tо hurt hіm mоѕt dеерlу І brоught uр hіѕ wіfе аnd thаt wаѕ а рооr сhоісе. Ѕhе ѕhоuld nоt bе tаrgеtеd fоr hіѕ асtіоnѕ јuѕt lіkе wе ѕhоuld nоt bе tаrgеtѕ bесаuѕе оur fаthеr іѕ а роlіtісіаn. І ароlоgіzе tо hіѕ wіfе аnd аll оthеr wоmеn І оffеndеd.”

Reports are that authorities are looking into the matter to decide if, and what, charges can be brought against Castro.
