By BBN Staff: Media organizations, Great Belize Productions and 7 News Belize issued statements this morning condemning threatening comments made by the son of a Government minister.
Channel 5 said that this act must be condemned in the strongest terms by all Belizeans.
“Those in office who swore to uphold the law must take action to protect Pastor Wade and his wife and ensure that those who made the threats are made to face the law,” the organization said.
7 News made an editorial statement expressing that the comments cross a dangerously thin line, threatening sexual violence on a woman and a journalist.
“We condemn this statement as utterly reprehensible. It is the most sinister form of cyberbullying and leading personalities in the UDP should speak out against it. We stand unreservedly with Louis Wade for expressing his opinion and with Shasta Wade for being a blameless target of such hideous threats,” the organization noted.
