New Year 2020 is today’s first place lottery jackpot – did you win?

By Aaron Humes: The old year has already given way to the new – at least as far as the Boledo/Sunday Lottery Jackpot Draw is concerned.

This morning’s draw, the last for the year, at the ‘Public Buildings’ in downtown Belize City saw 2020 drawn as first prize. Second prize was 9888 and third prize, 2220.

We are told that a single ‘piece’ of the jackpot is worth $150, so if you bought ten pieces you have a cool $1,500 to collect from your nearest grocer. The ‘ending piece’, in this case 20, is worth $2 a piece of 10 pieces gets you $20.

Regular boledo and jackpot buyers look for patterns in anything from dreams to previous numbers drawn. The 2-pick machine must be drawn six times over to produce the result as the four-pick machine malfunctioned a few years ago during a draw and has not been replaced.

There will be regular boledo draws on Monday and Tuesday followed by a break for New Year’s Day. Perhaps look out for missing numbers 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.

The draw is administered by Brad’s Gaming Company and the Lotteries and Gaming Committee of the Government of Belize. The contract which expired in November has been put out to tender.
