Shyne Barrow hosts New Year’s Day Football Youth Cup in Mesopotamia!!!

By BBN Staff: In November, UDP Representative Shyne Barrow undertook an upgrade of the Albert Hoy Football Stadium also known as hostel field or Dubu park located next to the Raccoon Street police station.

Barrow and his donors painted the fences, bleachers, and gates green and white. He also acknowledged some legendary ballers such as Dubu Thomas, Tilliman Nunez, Rungu Glen and Chill Pill Delmont on the Wall of Fame.

The UDP Mesopotamia Sports Council upgrade project is what lead Shyne to launch the 1st annual New Year’s Day Youth Cup for U18 & U12 teams in Mesopotamia.

Legend Dubu Thomas will ref the games, which gives the U12 & U18 youth an opportunity to develop the skill and discipline needed to advance to the professional level.

The Mesopotamia New Year’s Day Youth Cup promises to be an exciting day for the youth to compete and showcase their athletic ability for the community.

Cash prizes, trophies and medals will be distributed. As well Dubu Thomas will be presented with the Football Legend Lifetime Achievement Award.

Shyne Barrow says “youth & sports is all a part of my 2020 vision which will see greater investment in young people to develop and master their athletic capacities”

Barrow promises to continue to engage the young people of Mesopotamia on levels, education and sports being the two concentrated areas of engagement.

He encourages the community to come out and support our youth.
