Cold front coming today

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize says that the passage of a cold front over the country later today will support moist and unstable conditions.

The 24-hour forecast calls for variably cloudy and fair weather this morning, then mostly cloudy with a few showers periods of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms, starting over the north and inland areas by midday and reaching most places later today.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 88 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 70 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast to 64 degrees Fahrenheit inland and 59 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be gusty, blowing West-Northwest 5-15 knots and the sea state will be choppy to moderate. A small craft caution for gusty winds and occasionally rough seas goes into effect tonight.

There will be a high tide at 4:59 p.m. and a low tide at 11:02 p.m.

The sun will set at 5:31 p.m. and the moon will rise at 12:51 a.m.
