Dr. Carla Barnett drops out of race for UDP Chairman

By BBN Staff: Today, the United Democratic Party (UDP), announced that Dr. Carla Barnett will no longer be contesting the position of Chairman in the upcoming leadership convention slated for February 9.

The party noted that with her withdrawal, Michael Peyrefitte and John Castillo are the only ones vying for the position. Barnett was on the official list of candidates that was on October 25, 2019.

Current Party Chairman, Alberto August, did not put his name on the list to contest the post again, and instead tendered his name for Vice-Chair, where he will go up against Clifford Peters, and Khalid Belisle.
