Commissioner of Police issues traffic advisory

Posted: Thursday, January 9, 2020. 10:37 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Today, Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams issued a traffic advisory for all motorists.

Williams urges all motorists to exercise extreme caution when using our highways especially since rain has caused roads to be wet and slippery.

“A wet road will result in a slippery road and a slippery road may result in vehicles losing control and running off the road. This may then cause injuries or death,” Williams noted.

Motorists are also advised to adhere to road speed limit of 55 miles per hour.

Drivers are reminded not to overtake if they do not have a clear view ahead and sufficient distance to clear whatever it is you are overtaking.

“Remember as a driver you are holding your life and the lives of others in your hands. So drive with due care and attention and get safely to your destination,” Williams emphasized.
