By BBN Staff: PUP Belize Rural South Standard-bearer, Andre Perez donated 20 Rotoplas tanks to the Caye Caulker community yesterday in an effort to assist the community as it continues to suffer the effects of water and electricity shortages.
With the assistance of the Caye Caulker Village Council, the tanks will be placed in strategic locations within the community to allow residents to have access to water.
A statement issued by Perez’ social media page informed that there are plans to place more of these tanks to encourage residents to collect water in order to alleviate any water issues in the future.
Last week, the village experienced a water crisis when a main drive shaft of the Caye Caulker Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant was broken.
Perez says that the community of Caye Caulker, residents and business owners alike, deserve better.
