Police investigating armed robbery in Belmopan

By BBN Staff: Authorities are investigating an armed robbery in Belmopan.

Salesperson, Ching Yu Chiu, told police that about 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 9th, 2020, she was inside a van on Honduras Street, San Martin area and her dad was at a nearby shop conducting business.

Chiu says that 2 men approached her, pointed a knife at her and robbed her.

The men escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, cell phone, and other personal documents.

 Police recovered the items and have detained one person and are seeking another.

Authorities are investigating.
