By Aaron Humes: With a week to go before the deadline to apply for the management of Government lotteries, there have been no takers for the contract currently held by Brads Gaming Company, according to Chairman of the Lotteries Commission Duane Belisle, who spoke to the Reporter Newspaper.
The deadline expires on January 17, with the Brads contract also set to expire shortly.
Brads’ Gaming Company took over management ten years ago and has reportedly collected millions in profits, with about $2 million paid out to the Government per year over the life of the contract. There is no indication if they have reapplied.
On April 1, the winners take over the contract for boledo, drawn weeknights; and Sunday lottery/jackpot, drawn weekly. Brads also manages “Fantasy 5,” a version of the old Lotto draw by Tropical Gaming Company, and other smaller lotteries.
That company will have to pay the government $2.5 million annually during the life of the 10-year contract.
