Cowpen villager to be charged for wounding officer with a machete

By BBN Staff: Authorities are investigating an incident that occurred in Cowpen yesterday morning.

Farmer Narciso Manzano,67, told police that his son Byron Ramos,26, (whom he has a protection order against) was assaulting his granddaughter and daughter.

Police observed Ramos with a machete in his hand, and he was ordered to place the machete on the ground.

Ramos did not abide and swung the machete towards Police Constable Michael Roches.

A struggle ensued between Ramos and the officer which resulted in the officer detaining Ramos.

In the process, the officer was injured.

Ramos was detained and is expected to be charged for the offence committed.
