By Aaron Humes: Chairman of the Sugar Industry Control Board (SICB) Gabriel Martinez today said a combination of factors led to last December’s termination of Marcos Osorio.
The former director of the Sugar Industry Research and Development Institute was released with a year to go on his contract last December.
Martinez explained that the institute was short of funds and so had to downsize, though he made note that the Board will determine proper compensation for his years of service.
Martinez also explained that the Institute decided to return to its core principle of research on sugar industry problems.
