Armenian news reports on ‘political scandal’

In brief, the businessman also known as Lev Aslan Dermen is being investigated for fraud and accused of a fraudulent adventure that brought him more than $ 500 million. During the investigation, one of the accused, former partner of Dermen, Jacob Kingston, testified that from 2012 to 2016, Leo sent 25 thousand U.S. dollars a month to an unnamed Minister of Government of Belize.

It has little more to say other than to repeat the statements of Prime Minister Dean Barrow that none of his ministers admitted to such an arraignment, the charges of Opposition Leader John Briceño and Barrow’s promise that the minister involved, if any, would be removed from Cabinet.

It does call Dermen “a citizen of the United States and Belize,” based on his nationality certificate granted in the period 2011-2013, but he appears not to have gotten a passport. An application to be honorary consul based in Las Vegas, Nevada, supported by Michael Finnegan, was refused.
