Policeman chopped in Cowpen village

By BBN Staff: A police officer was injured while responding to a call for help.

He is police constable, Michael Roaches.

According to Roaches just before 8 o’clock on Tuesday night he was responding to a report of an assault in Cowpen village.

When he arrived, a man armed with a machete attacked him. He was able to run away but suffered a chop wound to the arm.

His attacker has since been detained pending charges.
