Four injured in Cayo traffic accident

Posted: Sunday, January 19, 2020. 2:58 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Four people are receiving treatment at the Western Regional Hospital (WRH) following a road traffic accident earlier today.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time but reports are that the vehicle ran off of the road near St. Margaret’s Village close to the bridge at Mile 31. The vehicle itself was extensively damaged and seen upside down, partially submerged in water; however, we have been informed that the injuries sustained by the occupants were not life-threatening.

Breaking Belize News (BBN) notes that there has been a spike in road traffic incidents recently and calls on drivers on roads, as well as cities and towns, to exercise caution and obey all traffic laws.
