Forbes article cites Belize among top 20 places to retire abroad

By BBN Staff: Forbes Magazine, the popular Unites States-based business magazine, published an article this week listing Belize as one of the top 20 places to retire abroad.

The article was a contributory piece written by William P. Barret, who is known for covering topics such as personal finance, taxes, retirement, nonprofits & scandals.

Belize was third on the list, coming in behind Aruba and Australia respectively. Barret notes that healthcare in Belize is basic, the living conditions are reasonable and that gaining the right to stay is “very easy.” He also recommended Corozal and Ambergris Caye as the best places to settle down.

“Belize offers retirees a warm, outdoor-oriented environment, including fishing and barrier reef diving. Cost of living is quite reasonable. Crime is not a problem outside Belize City,” Barret said.

Earlier this month, Forbes had republished an article taken from International Living (IL) Magazine that listed Belize on the top 10 list for “Best Places to Live and Invest Overseas in 2020.”

The feature is another in a long list of international publications that have showcased Belize to the world.
