By BBN Staff: The Alliance of Religious Ministers and Leaders issued a statement today saying that it rejects the Equal Opportunities Bill.
The alliance said that “Constitutionally, the principles that recognize the supremacy of God form the foundation of our nation, therefore; no bill that seeks to violate or violates those principles should be valid in our nation.”
The alliance is also calling on all Belizeans to abstain from voting in this upcoming election, for any candidate who does not publicly declare their rejection of this bill and their support for the protection of the natural family and the biblical principles and values in accordance with the constitution of this nation.
“We alert the citizens of BELIZE that contrary to reports purported to be from the Government Consultation Team: Our Presence at the consultations in Belmopan, Belize City, Orange Walk and Corozal (4 of the 7 Consultations); shows us that amongst the attendees, more than 85% our Nation (those present), categorically reject this bill,” the statement expressed.
