By Aaron Humes: Already serving eleven years for burglary, 32-year-old David Rosalez, a prisoner with status as trustee of the Central Prison at Hattieville, will serve another 30 months for attempted sexual assault and common assault of a female prison employee, 28, in the prison in November 2018.
Magistrate Khadeen Palmer, who found him guilty, ordered that the sentences of 24 and six months run consecutively to each other, but concurrent with his current sentence.
The complainant told police she had asked Rosalez for help around 10:30 a.m. on November 16, 2018, specifically to go buy for her at the compound snack shop.
He returned with the items, handed them over, and then asked if he could “touch her vagina,” to which she said no.
He kept insisting, she said, and moved closer to where she was sitting behind her desk and stretched his hand to her private area. She pushed him away and told him to stop.
When he then asked her to touch his sexual organ, she again refused.
But Rosalez, she said, advanced on her, saying he only wanted “a little touch” and then leave. She refused again and he came around the desk, asking if she wanted to see his organ. He then took it out and grabbed her hand to force her to touch it.
She pulled her hand away and he backed off, zipping up his pants and leaving after saying to her, “I am done.”
Rosalez denied his actions from the witness stand.
