Micah launches 2nd annual scholarship fund

By BBN Staff: Belize City Councilor, Micah Goodin, has launched the 2nd annual Micah Goodin Scholarship Fund.

Last year through a series of barbecue sales Goodin was able to raise $11,500.

Mayor Bernard Wagner then matched Goodin bringing the total to $21,500.

With this total Goodin was able to assist 43 university students with $500 towards their tuition.

Goodin told our newsroom it’s a small step in the right direction.

According to him, when PUP forms central government education will be free up to 6th form.

For this year Goodin is seeking to raise $30,000 to assist 60 Belize City Students.

His first barbecue fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday at the Battlefield Park.
